In yoga, much like other arts, you will often hear "Make the practice your own", referring to how a practitioner develops.
What's important to realize is that this is true from the very start, and not only something for those who already practice yoga.
With all of its poses and flows, techniques and methods, it can seem difficult to narrow down exactly where a person should start.
The answer is, in this case, anywhere you can.
Some people started out just practicing the poses done in restorative yoga.
It was simply a way to engage in active recovery. Then it improved from there.
Having done simple arm balances as a child, I started with these when I later discovered yoga.
From there, my practice expanded further, pushing more into both the tangible and intangible.
It doesn't necessarily matter where you start, but rather that you start.
The rest remains to be explored as your journey continues.
