Given that life is constantly in motion, with both its tangibles and intangibles, nothing is ever truly at a standstill.
Things just seem this way because the movement is simply too small to notice, be it progression or digression.
If you lead a destructive lifestyle, things will not necessarily fall apart overnight. In fact, circumstances might seem fine for quite a while - until one day they don't.
That's simply the day you notice.
On the other hand, you might make the decision to be more productive, more active. Life also won't change for the better overnight. In fact, you'll most likely feel like you're accomplishing nothing. And this will go on for a while - until one day it doesn't.
And that's simply the day you notice.
The reality of consistency is that it is not selective. Life doesn't care about how you feel, only about what you do.
You could hate every minute of every useful, productive thing you do and in the end, life will still reward you with the results as long as you were consistent.
The same applies to every minute you spend loving whatever is an absolute waste of time.
This is not to say that life is "all work, no play". But rather to understand that our lives are a direct reflection of what we choose to consistently put our time and effort in.
The things we want most in life never come easily, but that's what makes them so worth having.
Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?
